However you rank Final Fantasy 4 ($14.99) among the many installments of the popular RPG series, it’s clear that it’s special to many people. Not the least of them being the people at Square Enix, who have seen fit to remake and re-release the game more than any other installment in the series. It’s the only Super NES Final Fantasy to get a direct sequel game, which itself has been remade a few times in spite of being a pretty weak effort. Just as last weekend got underway, Final Fantasy 4 got another feather in its cap, as it’s the subject of the latest event in the well-received Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (Free). To celebrate that, Square Enix has temporarily reduced the price of the iOS version of Final Fantasy 4 to less than half of its usual cost.
Normally selling for $15.99, you can now pick up the excellent remake of this banner JRPG for a mere $6.99. That’s a great price for any version of this game, and this one in particular is quite well-done. If you’ve played the game before in its original form, this 3D version will have a lot of surprises in store for you, but it’s also just as good for those playing for the first time. Whether you’re meeting the Dark Knight Cecil and his friends for the first time, or going back for a return visit, you’ll be in for a grand time. That should get you in the mood to take on the Giant of Babel event in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, which recreates one of the iconic sections of Final Fantasy 4. During this event, which runs until October 20th, you’ll have an increased chance of pulling Dark Knight Cecil, White Mage Rosa, and Ninja Edge from the random draws.
Whether you’re a free-to-play fiend or a premium paladin, there’s something Final Fantasy 4 for you to indulge in this week. If you already own the game and aren’t interested in that Exvius stuff, well, I guess you could just play Final Fantasy 4 again?
