‘Quell Zen’ is the Latest in Fallen Tree Games’ Popular Puzzle Series

TouchArcade Rating:

Fallen Tree Games is set to introduce the latest in their popular series of Quell games, with Quell Zen. A followup to 2015’s Quell Memento ($3.99), this game where you slide a ball around puzzle mazes, using walls and endless looping walls to help solve the tricky puzzles ahead of you, this will feature plenty of new mechanics to puzzle you, which you can sample in the new trailer:

The Quell games have had narratives to make them more than just random puzzle experiences, and Quell Zen is no different. A story about the lives of a Japanese family, which also served as an influence on the art and music of the game, is at the center of the experience here. This puzzler will launch on July 14th for iOS and Apple TV for $3.99.

      I wish it wasn't F2P

They may make a premium choice in there somewhere.I thought that this and blaze blue would be great for phones with the swipe gestures of those fighting games! I just hope it goes the route of contest of champions and injustice and mortal kombat and not blaze blue RR

I would be open to gameplay closer to blazblue and a f2p structure similar to injustice.

      This looks great.. Premium please

    4. RunningWild

It plays beautifully on the Vita & PS4. Highly recommended if you own those platforms.

      Looks sweet. I hope it's a premium game. I hate Free-to-play😖

    6. OrangutanKungfu

Lives or dies by the controls, but sweet lord, this looks amazing.

Totally signed up for this, sadly I could back them during the time :( But excited to see an iOS version come out :3

It doesn't look like another Injustice/MKX "fighter" to me. According to the description of the video it's somewhat turn based. It looks like you can call assists and swap out characters like the actual game as well. For those curious check out Skullgirls on PC/Vita/PS4. The game is a work of art and I sincerely hope they don't fuck up the mobile version and make it awful
