Gameloft has released their latest iPhone game Wild West Guns [App Store, $4.99]. While it is another “tap to shoot" targeting game, as always, Gameloft delivers a well polished experience and adds extras to keep it interesting. The game involves your typical target-shooting but also adds environmental bonus targets to shoot (passing birds, rats, bandits).
Features listed include:
- 18 challenges featuring typical Far West environments (saloons, deserts, stables, trains, etc.)
- Diverse targets and enemies (cowboys, sheriffs, signs, flying sombreros, balloons, vultures)
- Interactive backgrounds that allow you to shoot elements in the environment to earn more points

I was waiting for this...
I just bought the final two chapters this weekend so I missed out on the sale, but I can't really complain. They're both a huge step up from the first chapter and I'm having a ton of fun.
are the 2nd and third chapters better?
i bought the first one, which was okay...i kept wanting to tilt the device for some gravity physics controls because that seemed more natural...so that led to some frustration...dont think i ever finished the first one

@lynch I think the later chapters are better than the first. I don't think the controls are improved as much as the puzzles are far better suited for them. I admit the contest got me interested in getting past the first chapter, but I was very happy once I moved on.
Been holding out on this game for so long, mainly because the lite version didn't hold my interest.
Can I simply skip purchasing the first part? Or is it crucial to the experience?
There's a story recap at the beginning of the second and third chapter, and the first level of each has quick instructions on the controls. Although part of the gameplay involves piecing together the backstory, this isn't Memento - the plot is extremely simple.
It's a shame they didn't release a single app with all three chapters for $2.99, so we could save a bit of precious home screen real estate while we're at it...
first one is not horrible but pretty bad compared to 2 and 3. 3 is the best and 2 is pretty close behind 2.

Been waiting for this. I liked the lite version way back in August, but wasn't willing to part with $4 at the time, and wasn't willing to part with $12 after the other two came out.
This is essentially a drop from $12 to $3. I'm in.
