The multiplayer update for Crossy Road (Free) has just released on Android. Now, up to 4 players on local wi-fi can try to become top road crosser. The mode has a mixture of competitive and cooperative play, as you can revive dead players to come back to life, in order to get higher scores for the team, though individual glory is also at stake. The multiplayer mode should work on Android TV as well as on phones and tablets, but there appeared to be a bug on the Android TV version at launch where the multiplayer mode wasn’t selectable by the controller, though this is sure to be fixed.
The update is developed in part by Yodo1 Games, the publisher of Crossy Road on Android, and that’s why it’s an Android exclusive at first…sort of. The Apple TV version got multiplayer as well, now we’re just waiting on the iOS version to get it, which should happen in May. A shame it’s not an online-enabled mode, but what are you gonna do? Just gonna have to get actual friends, I guess.
