Here I was, hoping that Blizzard would use this last Hearthstone (Free) Tavern Brawl before the big Friday announcement to tease the new expansion. And yet, my dreams were dashed in a wave of randomness as Blizzard gave us a repeat of Randomonium, a Brawl from back in October. I suppose Blizzard needs all hands on deck for the upcoming expansion, but I had hopes and dreams. Oh well. If you don’t remember it (or you weren’t playing at the time), Randomonium is all about random cards and even more randomness on top of that. You choose a class, get random class, and then each turn your cards’ cost is randomized. It’s all crazy RNG, but it’s the fun kind of RNG because strategies go out the window for both players and then you see silliness ensue.
For instance, you might get to play a powerful legendary for 1 mana, or play a huge combo on turn 3. This is a great Brawl for players who are either just starting to play the game or aren’t yet very good at it; with such RNG going on, it’s almost impossible not to win at least once and get the classic pack. As for strategies, well, you could pray to the gods of RNG, light a few candles at a temple, or sacrifice a loved one. Other than that, there really isn’t much to say other than go and bathe in the glory of RNG. The Brawl is live in NA, so go get your pack by playing cards at turns you almost never get to play. Just a fair warning: you might feel sorry about your opponent a couple of times.
