Crescent Moon’s next big game, Stellar Wanderer developed by Dreambuilder Studios, has a release date, price, and a trailer just ahead of launch. You’ll be able to play this “space opera" for $4.99 next Thursday, February 18th. It’s looking rather gorgeous and intriguing, for sure, especially after getting to see the game in action in the just-released launch trailer:
The idea behind Stellar Wanderer is that you can play it in several different ways with four different classes: Fighter, Trader, Tank, and Engineer. Want to mine for resources to progress through the story and side missions? Go for it! Want to become a space pirate? Why, that’s allowed too. The developers are promising over 10 hours of gameplay, so there should be plenty to do here when you play it on Thursday. Check out the upcoming forum thread for more on this intriguing space opera.

Wooo .... so much hype ... *slowly claps hands*
Is it even worth expelling the energy for a slow clap?
No. I have regrets.
Well what's done is done, just take stock and move on with your life. Stock is very warming this time of year too.
So I heard.
Im pretty sure Nintendo's first official game on the iphone will be Dr. Mario....nothing special
Dr. Mario is rather fun.
Uhh.... Okay... *silently slips away when no one is looking*
I'm not sure I understand the urgency here. Why are we pre registering? Is there a limited number of registered users allowed? Or...?
It looks like if you pre register with a Nintendo Account, you'll earn some Platinum Points, which I believe will work like the old Club Nintendo Coins/Stars when the My Nintendo service launches. That is, you'll be able to trade them for physical and digital rewards once you accumulate enough of them. Beyond that, no, all you really get is a notification of when the app releases.
This kind of thing is pretty common in the Japanese mobile market, though usually without any reward at all.
When MiiTomo releases, I don't think you can get platinum points by buying physical copies of games, but you can for purchasing digitally. Kinda sucks because I like buying the physical version of games, so it's gonna be difficult to achieve points.
Also, did Ninty announce that there will be physical rewards, since I thought there were only gonna be discounts for games on the eShop for the time being (I haven't really kept up with the flow on MiiTomo, though, so I may be wrong).
I'm sure Nintendo also wants a feel for the enthusiasm and how many people are following the MyNintendo/Miitomo dev/release cycle.
The Wii and DS: the best and worst thing that could have happened for Nintendo, both significant innovations, but that success left Nintendo with their heads in the sand, blinded by brand pride, clinging to an antiquated hardware philosophy, oblivious to the mobile revolution that has since passed them by. I'm surprised they haven't been acquired by the Disneys of the world.
They *are* the Disney of the videogame world. In that their mascots and consoles are still bought by many, but are seen as very family-friendly and easily-accessible. Whereas Sony and MS are more akin to Fox, Paramount or Universal. A wider range of different media, hit and miss.
Nintendo is akin to Nintendo
Hope Nintendo puts out an actual game as their next offering. But low expectations here that we'll ever see anything worth getting, for me.
Anything less than a fully fledged Zelda title selling for $20 won't do, can't even be $10.
Zelda, Metroid, or even Mario. If it's a full game for $20 with no IAP, I'll buy it day one. Otherwise, if it's a f2p doll dressing app version 2.0, I'll emulate their classics and not pay them more money again. Their choice.
Totally agree a full console port from a wel known Nintendo game is a price between €15/€20 is justifiable, and as you mention there are a lot of emulators out there so gamers can play these games anyway so make it for gamers possible to play those games on mobile so "N" can make money from them because they infest a lot of money and time to develop them if everybody uses emulators the game industry wil suffer and wil stop making games they have to eat paid bills etc. to developing a good game takes a lot of time I never understood why Sony Nintendo and Microsoft make their one emulators for their older systems PS1/PS2 XboxOne SNES wouldn't surprise me if
a lot of people would be paid money for them to play them on their phone.
I think there is a huge market out there for them so there must be a different strategy in the way how they choose their next game the WII U is not a success there share holders demand a better turn out it don't surprise me that Nintendo will goes the same way as Sega only as a software developer and that is something what is no good for no one.
So excited! :D
Registered for points but couldn't care less about this app.
Big letdown I hoped that "N" came on mobile with a huge surprise they had so many choises in there game library and I can't call this a game I hope there next attempt is a game from one of of their famous game characters most be an easy choise.
Its all fun and games but once those toons start sharing secrets holy wars will start...
Funny thing is no one knows that this might be the sequel of Tomodachi life which sold about 3.12 million copies globally. Its an expansion of that game and now you actually get to see your character interact with your friends. Has Nintendo ever let us down with the quality of their games? I cant recall one single game that was not successful from Nintendo and this game is developed by Nintendo. DeNA will only handle the content updating and mobile related managing issues. This might not be as fun as playing Mariokart on your phone but it sure will get most of the people hooked to the game.
