Turn the clocks back to just over two years ago in January of 2014 and Edmund McMillen, one half of Super Meat Boy developer Team Meat and the creator of the 2011 roguelike The Binding of Isaac, teased that his then-upcoming Binding of Isaac enhanced remake subtitled Rebirth could be heading to the iPad, saying they were going to test the game out on that device and “if it works ok then we will also release there." Well, that was a long time ago and we haven’t heard anything about a Binding of Isaac iOS port since, but just moments ago we got a brand new tease thanks to Tyrone Rodriguez, founder of Nicalis and producer on The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth among other hit titles. When asked on Twitter whether or not Rodriguez had ever considered a mobile version of The Binding of Isaac, he replied with this:
@Thor_Jensen no, not really pic.twitter.com/lNncQ7E4jl

Ugh! Give me that now! Unfortunately further down the conversation Rodriguez states that he and McMillen were in the process of porting the game to mobile, but popular YouTuber Northernlion cancelled it. Which sounds like just a joke, but… you never know! At any rate, unless this is some sort of prank, there was at the very least a version of The Binding of Isaac running on an iOS device at one point in time, which means that perhaps we will indeed see that port finally come to fruition after all these years of teasing. Or not. Who knows! If any other news regarding The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth coming to iOS surfaces, we’ll let you know.
