Just About Every Tin Man Gamebook Is On Sale Right Now

TouchArcade Rating:

screen1136x1136-136I firmly believe a person can never have too many gamebooks. Particularly the digital versions, since you don’t have to worry about shelf space. If you like to collect titles in that genre like I do, chances are good you already own more than a few of the releases from Tin Man Games, but if there are any holes in your collection, now is a good time to fill them. In what they’re calling a pre-holiday sale, Tin Man has put almost every game they’ve released on sale. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Sons Of Uruzime ($2.99)
  • Fighting Fantasy: The Forest Of Doom ($5.99)
  • Trial Of The Clone ($3.99)
  • Fighting Fantasy: Caverns Of The Snow Witch ($5.99)
  • Ryan North’s To Be Or Not To Be ($6.99)
  • Gamebook Adventures 12: Asuria Awakens ($5.99)
  • Appointment With F.E.A.R. ($5.99)
  • Judge Dredd: Countdown Sector 106 ($0.99)

Those are just some of my personal picks, but like I said, just about everything is on sale, including the entire Gamebook Adventures series, all of the Fighting Fantasy adaptations, and more. The only thing that isn’t on sale is the recent Legacy Of Dorn: Herald Of Oblivion ($0.99). Sorry Warhammer fans, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to save a few bucks on that one.

Much more reasonable given the featureless multiplayer :) Shame it still uses almost 250mb an hour if playing over your cellular. :)

        1. Taeles

So the Live! mode content is streamed then? Sucks you can't choose to download it to your device at least selectively.

            1. Taeles

last i tested bout a month ago i burned 250mb of my data plan in half an hour of play on Live

$15 in the Australian store. Still a pretty good price as a premium Tap Tap Revenge equivalent. Does anyone know how much an iOS guitar costs or if they work/will work with a console one?

      1. Taeles

console guitar does not work with ios game, have to pick up ios guitar which i believe this article listed as 50 dollars usd

Wow, I was in bad need of food when I posted. How did I miss that? :-/

I don't know what else they could have done. The one star reviews from entitled idiots pissed that the entire game wasn't free took up 90% or more of the scores.

      1. Gamer1st

Maybe with the patch and a temporary price drop the game can get the scores it deserves.

Who am I kidding? The App Store will never be a home for full games like this. The devs poisoned the waters with the race to the bottom pricing wars, and now anyone releasing full games like this or add ons like the Monument Valley one brings the kooks out in full force. I don't know if it can be fixed at this point.

I partly blame the record labels for allowing music to become devalued. Everyone expects everything for free these days. Music has tremendous value for me. I have purchased 700 CDs in 2015. With that being said, I have no problem with games priced at $4.99 or more.

          1. MrThickDick

How can you blame record labels for that?

            1. Galley

Because they allow Joe Shmoe to upload copyrighted material to YouTube where anyone can listen for free.

Was about ready to pick this up until I remembered that this is online only. Shame.

Same here, man. I can't stand games that require constant internet connection.

This is unfortunately a huge blow to premium mobile games. This was a same day launch on all systems and apparently AAA now knows that it's not worth trying to port to mobile.

        Yep.

      2. Onikage725

They own some responsibility here. Launching with missing features, game-breaking bugs, and a carrier-specific lock on the titular "Guitar" certainly impacted people's decision whether or not to support it on said platform. I have a similar issue with the narrative some devs used when they pulled Wii U support. They released buggy birds with missing modes and limited or no dlc...then acted surprised that said versions weren't their highest performers.

          Ports, not birds -.-
