A few months ago, our very own Carter Dotson got to play Wild Wastes, an upcoming “cross-platform multiplayer open-world zombie survival game" by Everplay Interactive (of 1001 Attempts fame). The game has been coming along well, and it’s still looking very promising. To make it through the Wild Wastes, you’ll have to overcome hunger, bandits, beasts, and everything else around you, exploring the randomly generated landscape while permanently borrowing all that you can get your hands on. You’ll have to “politely" help bandits, cannibals, and all kinds of other weird people change their minds about taking you down (or even making you Sunday brunch). Your persuasion tactics include rifles, handguns, huge revolvers, Assault Rifles, flamethrowers, and more.
Not everyone will be out to kill you, though, as some of the NPCs can become your allies. Best of all, you’ll be able to traverse the wilderness of Earlsboro with friends playing either on mobile, PC, or even PS4. Killing cannibals is always better with friends, isn’t it? According to the developers, the game still has a ways to go until it’s finished, but it’s coming along nicely. They are planning on having a closed beta with an open invite to TouchArcade users, so if you’re interested, keep an eye out on our forum thread and Everplay’s Facebook page. By the way, the game will be a premium title with no IAPs, which I know will make some of you happy.
