Yesterday we posted Senior Game Designer Ben Brode’s video where he explained the thought process behind the Warsong Commander nerf in Hearthstone (Free). Some pockets of the internet are still mad about this, but it seems like this kind of heart to heart with the playerbase goes a long way in diffusing unrest.
Shortly after that video went up, Trump (a professional Hearthstone player and streamer) posted a great response video analyzing this change. The interesting part of the video is the second half though, where he discusses where he sees the Hearthstone metagame going without Patron Warrior as a threat that players need to build decks around.
As Trump says, it’s pretty amazing that the nerfing of one card can shift up the metagame so much. We’re going to see a vastly different lineup of decks at Blizzcon, which I’m looking forward to way more now that the professional scene is going to be forced to bring decks that are something other than Patron Warrior and two other decks that are built around needing to be good against Patron Warrior.

A high price that goes up after a little bit? BLASPHEMY. RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE. Seriously though I'll definitely look into it.
We are putting the game on a launch sale for the first two weeks off, as a way of saying thank you to our fans.
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!
I do think spader was being sarcastic of the pricing. It's fair for early adopters.
Just like on Steam we're going to keep the pricing simple. No paid DLC, no IAP. Buy it, play it as much as you want, forever.
Thank you for your feedback!
FINALLY OUT! I really like these guys. Heroes of Steel has a homemade charm and is a fav crawler of mine. I'm in awe that two brothers make these. You can tell they are really into it.
Nice, so tasty! Thanks for bringing it to mobile and at a super fair price for what looks like a lot of fun. I'll be looking forward to it!
I have the pc version and it's great.
I am also going to buy this version for my iPad.
The only disappointing fact though is that you will be unable to share save files between pc and iOS.
That is a very common request, and we won't ignore it. Sharing saved games across devices would be an awesome feature and I will be working on bringing it to life. Thanks a lot for buying the game on Steam!
Heroes of Steel fell short? In who's opinion? It has hundreds of hours of playtime, with all kinds of party and skill permutations...
"I haven't played the game yet, but the reviews on Steam look very promising"... So your preview references other people's review scores? What a pointlessly amateur article this is...
Well, actually clicking on the Heroes of Steel link will take you to a review where you can see how the game was fun but had its issues. And you do realize this isn't a preview article but rather just a "the game is coming out soon" article, right? Which might explain why I haven't played it yet.
I appreciate the article and feel you did a good job. Don't listen to the trolls!
iPhone and iPad right ?
iPhone and iPad, yes. We'll support every device we can!
I can't hardly wait for this one!!!! I was I could go back to the future and play it....
Do yourself a favor and skip the Steam reviews. They'll just make you wish it was out now!
Think you meant to say
"features turn-based tactical warfare across more than 40 scenario"
FREAKIN AWESOME, TRESE BROTHERS!
You are too kind. I hope that you have a chance to check it out on your platform of choice!
Game is now available on iTunes for $6.99 ... hope you love it! :fingers crossed: =)
