Let’s see if I can do this without confusing everyone: if you like sandbox games, then you’ve probably played Pixowl’s The Sandbox (Free), the game that gives you your own sandbox to mess with and a thousand ways to do so. Now, Pixowl is searching in our forums for beta testers for The Sandbox‘s sequel, The Sandbox 2, which promises to be even better than the original Sandbox. If you haven’t played the original game, at first look The Sandbox looks like a simple game with simple pixel art, but the simple visuals belie the game’s great complexity since you can mess around with organic and non-organic elements, all of which react with each other in countless ways, and even populate your little universe with technological inventions that range from simple vehicles to advanced sensors to electrical circuits.
Now, Pixowl is inviting both Android and iOS players to go test the upcoming sequel; I wonder if testers will know whether something’s a bug or a crazy interaction between weird elements. The game promises to be even better than the original with a much bigger world to mess with, new graphics with 3D rendering and four times the resolution of The Sandbox, improved Physics interactions, and that’s just the beginning. You’ll even get a free exclusive sticker after filling a short feedback form. What I’m more excited about is that this sequel will give the developers a better platform for all the crazy expansions they love doing (the last one introduced the monster Cutethulu). If you like sandbox games (which I know many of you do), go here to join the beta of the sandbox game The Sandbox 2 (I’ve placed a bet with myself to see how many times I can use the word “sandbox" in this story about The Sandbox 2 beta, and I think I won).
