We covered Aquiris Game Studios’ Project Retro-Racer back when that was just a working title. And now, the game has a finalized title and a new teaser video showing off the gameplay and music for the first time. Welcome Horizon Chase to the world. The Brazilian studio has been hard at work making this one look really good. You can also listen to the soundtrack, being composed by Barry Leitch, known for his work games like Top Gear, Rush, and Lotus World Challenge. You can hear it in the video below, but also on Leitch’s Soundcloud.
Horizon Chase takes major inspiration from those aforementioned games, so expect as an authentic a 90’s, 16-bit racing game experience as possible, just with some modern trappings like 3D visuals. Aquiris does a lot of contract work typically, but they are branching out into self-publishing for this game. This one is still in development, but it’s expected to be a premium game without IAP when it launches on mobile later this year.
