Independent developer Daniel Marques has an interesting new game coming out this week, called Platie. It’s looking like a three-dimensional take on the challenging fast-reaction, high score games that are all about on the App Store, but focused on managing three-dimensional perception from different two-dimensional views.
You have three different views of the world, and tapping on each view will jump forward. As such, your goal is to jump forward on the right screen, as opposed to jumping to your death. Sounds challenging!
We’ve seen games like Fez play with two-dimensional perception in a three-dimensional world, but I like that this is trying to do it as a high-score game. I’m looking forward to wracking my brain, trying to sort out just what is going on at any given time, as I dig fast-reaction high score games, especially when they have a unique premise.
This one should be available on Thursday, April 9th. Check out the forum thread for the game!
