Last year saw World of Tanks: Blitz (Free) from Wargaming saw them try to fit the real-time mutliplayer tank battler on to mobile in a smaller, blitz-style form. Now, Wargaming is going to shoot for something a bit more traditional in terms of mobile: a card battle game. They’ve just announced World of Tanks: Generals, a free-to-play TCG. You’ll be collecting up to 200 cards consisting of soldier and tank cards, battling against other players. You’ll have a 5×3 grid to lay cards down on, using tactical card positioning in order to try and take out your opponents.
You’ll be able to build your decks, play against computerized opponents, and be able to go online against other players. Unlike World of Tanks, which is split into two different versions, Generals will be available on PC, tablets, and phones, which could put it a leg up on Hearthstone (Free) depending on release date, and you can carry progress across devices with a Wargaming.net account. A closed beta will be available soon, and you can sign up for it at the game’s website.
