Sega’s ‘Chain Chronicle’ Launches in the US, UK, Canada and Australia

TouchArcade Rating:

Last month we learned that Sega would be bringing their popular free to play social strategy RPG Chain Chronicle (Free) to territories outside of Japan, and as of today the game is now available in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. If you live in a region that’s not one of those listed, Sega states “Additional territories to follow" so we’ll just have to wait and see when that will be. Chain Chronicle has been published in the West by gumi Inc, and here’s a look at the official launch trailer.

Chain Chronicle has been available in Japan since early last year, and has proven to be a massive hit for Sega in that region. It’ll be interesting to see if it will have the same kind of impact here in the States and elsewhere, as it seems like these free to play light strategy games have already oversaturated the market. If you’ve had your eye on Chain Chronicle then there’s no harm giving the free download a shot, and you can head over to the forums to discuss the game with our community.

As long as I can strip search old overweight Slavic women I am in!

      1. qdiddy

This man has his priorities right

      2. TheOutlander

Unfortunately, you won't be able, the game will not contain nudity as it seems.

        1. zergslayer69

Huh, this version is censored in some ways? Sad.

    4. PoloBaquerizoH

At least something else besides Sneaky this week, good news!

    5. collider

Lucas' new game "Return of the Obra Dinn" looks like it will be great as well, check out the dev build on his site. Going back to the old, dithered Mac Plus look, but with FPS movement. Very excited to play Papers Please on my iPad.

    6. volcanopele

      GLORY TO ARSTOTZKA!!

      Instabuy!

    7. armilla

      YEEESSSS THIS IS GLORIOUS.

    8. Jesse_Dylan

I'm confused by the "Watch" button. It has both "Papers" and then "Please" as two separate items. Did I miss something? I just want to watch for Papers, Please, not Papers and Please.

      1. Eli Hodapp

Oh god, the game's title has a comma in it, and our upcoming game tracker thing uses comma delimited lists. Just pay attention to TouchArcade on Friday.

I'll push alerts out for both "Papers" and "Please" so just follow whichever you want.

        1. Jesse_Dylan

Fair enough!! I followed both in my blind panic.

    9. Luciano1084

      Hope it's released tonight

      1. PoloBaquerizoH

        Probably tomorrow at night

    10. Shinto

How much the no nudity affects the game? Is an entire chapter missing or is just some censored scenes?
I don't have a PC and I like to play this game but if there is some content out I will wait

      1. anada

It'll make it harder for you to masterbate to it but that's about it

        1. Shinto

Oh! No papers for dressed people, no matter how polite they ask

      2. nini

I never turned on the nudity so I guess visually it changes stuff but nothing integral to the game unless you enjoy that sort of thing.

    11. ImJPaul

iPad only? Wack. I'll stick to my superior PC version. 😊

      1. nini

Superior how? This game couldn't be more made for touch! anyway, iPhone gaming is a total PITA.

        1. ImJPaul

          Because of the BEWBZZZZ. Duh.

    12. Tommmy

OH SHIT! This can't be true! Why?? I got work to do and haven't finished Banner Saga yet.

I really didn't expect it to be released on iOS, 'cause the last news I read was that the guy who made the game was reluctant about releasing it on mobile.

    13. metalcasket

Bummed that it's iPad only and won't have it on my iPhone, but I.CANNOT.FRICKIN'.WAIT. GLORY TO ARSTOTZKA!

    14. digitaligor

I'm just "finishing" it on PC, lol! Btw, great game.

    15. Jake7905

So let me get this straight: Violence and profanity are OK, but nudity is where Apple draws the line. Thank god for that, we wouldn't want our kids traumatized by a nipple. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and murder a few (virtual) people. Hey, it's better then sex. (According to Apple)

      1. GiHubb

I 100% agree. Never understood how on TV shows on network TV in America, showing someone's head blown off is fine but a nipple is offensive. Or heaven forbid if the F word uttered. It's nuts.

        1. Jake7905

It blows my mind. (Pun intended)

    16. raumich

One of the best games I played in the recent past. With touch control probably even better! Instantbuy!

    17. slammajamma28

Aw man I was really hoping for an iPhone release.

    18. GiHubb

Been waiting for this for ever it seems. I held off playing the PC version, finally coming to iPad! I hope the port is a good one.

    19. Kyle

What bothered me was that a week or two after Icewind Dale was rejected for mostly covered boobs into the intro, The Longest Journey was accepted despite having a Dr Manhattan style dick shot in the intro.

If Apple is going to reject nudity then it needs to be consistent and not let reviewers reject things on a whim.

    20. dancj

I guess Apple weren't properly paying attention when they approved Iesabel.

    21. nicoper

Glory to Arstotzka! (also, I do like both Papers and Please so I places both on my watchlist)

    22. bababewey

Apparent out in the uk, not in the Canadian store yet.

      1. bababewey

        It's out

    23. andylangers

Can't find it in the UK store

    24. 28monkeys

completed this on PC. very good game, you get to make some difficult decisions

    25. andylangers
