If you’re not paying attention to the PC/console space these days, you’re missing out on the release of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Like every CoD release, it’s probably going to break all sales records and all sorts of insanity like that. They’re doing things a little differently this year, with people who preordered getting access to the game a day early (today).
The Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Compaion App (Free) works like previous companion apps before it and lets you log in to manage clan stuff, view progress on unlockables, and all that jazz. Oddly enough, even though the CoD series are well known for their insane budgets, it seems not that much trickled down to the iOS side of things. The app is pretty janky on my iPhone 6, which I suppose could have to do with pre-launch day load.
Also, for what it’s worth, I’ve been playing Advanced Warfare on the PS4 today and it’s awesome… So, I’m not too concerned with the app being a little crappy comparatively.
Noob question. I hear that a lot "roguelike" what does that mean actually? Curious
I shouldn't take a stab at this... but I think of "roguelike" meaning:
- Permadeath
- Random maps and contents/enemies
- RPG (stats and levels)
- Grid-based, turn-based (enemies move when you do) play
But a rogueLIKE might not have to have all of those, necessarily. I like Zaga-33, which has most of them, except the RPG "stats" is simplified down to just collecting "ammo."
I also think of them involving a succession of ever-harder zones/maps, but maybe that's not a requirement.
Look up the game rogue. Do yourself a favor and download it. Don't expect it to be fancy. It's a gem.
Yeah what Adam said 😊😊.. Of course I'll be buying this and probably every other rogue like that's ever released on iOS.. This one looks especially charming 😍
This game is great fun! Very challenging too. Glad I caught this article about it. Thanks!
Thanks Adams for that descriptive explanation!
