Here’s the First Actual Screenshot from ‘Tilt to Live 2: Redonkulous’

TouchArcade Rating:

Way back in March of this year, developer One Man Left announced Tilt to Live 2: Redonkulous, a long-awaited sequel to their stupidly awesome arcade game Tilt to Live ($2.99). If you dig through the archive of Tilt to Live 2 news on the One Man Left blog, you’ll find all sorts of cool glimpses into the development process of the sequel, culminating in a post this past Friday which shows off the very first actual screenshot for the game. And, here it is!

As explained in the post, Tilt to Live 2 uses a new dot renderer which makes the dastardly red circles “blend and squish together like liquid." Awesome. The sequel will boast other new features too, like a new combo system for scoring, epic boss fights, and–as explained in their post from earlier in the month–a new item called the “Brilliant Disguise" which lets your little arrow hero impersonate one of the enemy red dots so you can continue your murderous rampage of them without drawing attention. It all sounds way too cool, and the developers are hopeful that Tilt to Live 2 will be submitted to Apple by the end of the month and should hopefully launch before the end of the year.

I'm having a ton of fun with this game. The puzzles are tricky, but not so difficult that you won't be able to figure them out.

    2. Steven Lewis

I tried the free puzzles in Paint It Black and I agree that it is well done. However, my favorite of this genre is still iPACROSS. The contols in that game are also excellent and there are tons of puzzles. If Paint It Black is better, I would be curious why.

      1. Cccee

I mentioned a couple other Picross games I like a lot, below. But you are right. iPacCross is excellent too!!

      2. Xissoric

Paint it back works on iPhone, iPACROSS doesn't.

    3. Andy C83

I love Picross too and Paint it Back is a dream come true.

    4. riggysmalls

This really is a great game. Simple and addictive, like coke.

    5. Billy Ocean

this is a great 2D picross clone. dont forget about Oh! Cube, though. An excellent picross 3D clone.

    6. Cccee

I love Jumbo GridPix by Cookie's Apps. Pics are extremely detailed and gorgeous and can be done in sections. I love the tiger. The developer's other similar games are also equally good!
Also good are the PathPix games br Kris Pixton.
I'll give this one a look too

      1. Cccee

P.S. Another excellent PicCross besides Oh Cube is NonoCube. Can you tell I'm addicted to these puzzles?

        1. Billy Ocean

ooh lala, thanks for the heads up on nonocube. youre right, excellent controls.

        2. pdSlooper

Heads up, NonoCube won't work on 4g iPod Touch. :( Very sad about that, especially given how badly iOS picross games have been executed in general.

    7. Tod Cunningham

I will have to try Paint it Back. Ken and I made Picross HD for iOS. It's been around since 2010, but we update it every 4 to 6 weeks with new puzzles.

Honestly I couldn't see anything to make this better than any of the other picross games I've tried.

And the tutorial got really annoying explaining the same thing over and over.

      1. mr_bez

You and the reviewer do realise you don't have to play the tutorial, right?

        1. dawizerd

And it takes like 2 1/2 minutes

        2. AlpacaLips

Well I couldn't figure out how to skip it. It wouldn't unlock later levels until it was completed. It became so intolerable that I deleted the app before finishing. Based on this review though I'll give it another try.

    9. Holcman

I love this game so much, I immediately beat all the free levels right when. I got the game!

    10. Honki

My game of the month and top 5 of the year probably.

    11. Hawaii Jeff

      I LOVE this game!

It's got such an addicting quality for me, and I really like the music too.

      I will insta-buy extra galleries - I hope they're coming!

    12. mrbass

my favorite Picross is Color Cross or Color Cross HD as it lets you work on one color at a time and has like 4 or 5 colors per picture puzzle.

    13. Adam

I'm such a fan of Picross games, and this one is awesome. Should tide me over til Picross e3 in the Euro 3DS store next month.

    14. wedge598

As well done as the game is it just didn't excite me. Felt like a child's version of Suduko to me. I guess I'm just too old for this one.

      1. Guest

I'm plenty old (40+!!), and I really like the game. I think it's more about taste in genres than age.

    15. digitaligor

Picrossssssssss!!! <3 So, the latest levels are pretty hard to do?

    16. Guest

Props for having the same name as a Rolling Stones song. :)

    17. Sunmi

I wished there was more free stages, either way i find it style similar to sodoku, it's fun, challenging on bigger scales if you do it on pro, it's easy if you do it by parts.

I also liked the result of the painting, but some are so so.
Also there is no penalty on making a wrong guess which made it easier

      1. lordyokomoto

When u get to masterpiece lvl mistakes count against your medal counts

        1. Sunmi

oh! That's good to know, too bad i didn't reach that level :P
