Strange things are afoot on the App Store as everyone rushes to get their games and apps out before the iTunes freeze this Friday. The Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil ($2.99) card game hit the New Zealand App Store moments ago, and with any luck, should be available tonight in the US at 11:00 PM Eastern.
The $4.99 price in particular is a steal, considering the physical version sells for $29.99 on Amazon. Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil is a card game set in the Penny Arcade universe. The game is sporting a 7.12 out of 10 on Board Game Geek and centralizes around a deck building mechanic. Here’s a video that explains how the (physical version) of the game is played. Warning, there’s lots of weiner talk, if you’re currently in a non-weiner safe environment:
Better yet, the iOS version features not only local play against AI as well as local pass and play mode, but also full online asynchronous multiplayer support. 2 to 4 players can play at once, and I don’t know how you can’t have a good time with a game that features a “Touch Weiners" card.
