F5 Games ambitious asynchronous turn-based RPG Pocket Heroes has had a couple of false starts with prospective release dates, but the latest seems pretty firm: according to the developer’s blog, we can expect Pocket Heroes to see a release, for real this time, this coming July 12. The price will be $1.99.
Pocket Heroes is often described as Words With Friends meets turn-based RPG, though that is probably best understood by watching the trailer we have below. It almost goes without saying, but the mobile-friendly points of design seem like the game’s coolest features and we can’t wait to give them a spin in the real world. Stay tuned because we’ll have a lot more soon.
Why do all the links go to the NZ app store?
Because they are only out on the NZ app store at time of posting
What is meant by "Ultra casual"?
Well, this comment thread is fun!
No amazing alex? D:
Good that game sucked
Also, a new update for my puzzle game Exponential Invasion went live today. I've added a bunch of new, challenging levels to play around with. If you get a chance, please give it a look!
Metal Slug 3 has great controls. It appears to be a MAME emulated version. It's also iCade compatible even though the description doesn't mention it. See my YouTube video for a quick gameplay demo.
That's really nice to know! I love Metal Slug 7 on the Nintendo DS! It'd be great to have an actually functional version to play on my iPod touch.
That's the most unhelpful video of tiny wings I every seen if that's what u call trying to sell it to me I'm walking by
This is the Citizen Kane of internet comments.
........rosebud.
As posted right below the video, THERE'S A THREAD DEDICATED TO TINY WINGS. Don't be lazy. Get with the times already.
That's a nice opinion you have. Too bad it's wrong.
Pocket Heroes looks like it could be interesting...
METAL SLUGS $6.99 #%@$ I DONT HAVE THE MOONNEEYY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Y $7?!
I don't see how Pocket Heroes could work.
I mean, a party with your friends sounds epic, but, what if someone doesn't takes his turn? What will happen? This kind of game is good for Words with Friends for example, but for a rpg?
Well, i think we just need to wait...
That's exactly what I was thinking!! I guess I just have to try it out!
$2.99 for a sequel to a .99 game? Am I missing something? (Other than the opportunity of cashing in on the success of the first one?)
Sorry. Talking about Tiny Wings.
Never mind. Thought I read everything. The iPhone update is free. The $2.99 is for the iPad version. Sorry for wasting your time here.
I can't believe I wasted 10 seconds of my life to read your comments. My life is ruined now.
Sorry, just had to waste another 3 seconds :)
Great, now I'm dead. Thanks for that.
Brandon, you are lucky you're dead. You made me waste so much time on this thread when clearly I'm on the Touch Arcade forums trying to get stuff done.
Now I'm alive, in an alternate universe where there is no technology. I was able to find one last gap in between the universes to send this message. My life is absolutely miserable now. All because someone on the internet wasted my time.
Whatever Brandon at least your not in my situation. 15 seconds GONE!!!
Well I've just read it all twice by accident ! And I'm 41 years old so that's me one step nearer the grave ! Thanks !
I was wondering why SNK pulled the first Metal Slug app. Now I see why; to make room for a high-priced-by-comparison sequel. And I thought Cave and Taito were ballsy in pricing THEIR apps.
Still, icade support rules. Makes me wonder why they haven't put it in the KOF games.
11:39 and none of those r up. Apples slacking. Not that I'm incredibly excited for any of this anyways. Going to bed.
Uh, they're all up. They have been, for a while, since 8pst. Tiny wings, Round Cable... They worked for me!
This week is pretty weak with releases that actually look good. Pocket Heroes is not for me, because of the online only component and the rest looks not very exciting. Knights of the Round Cable seems to be the only one worth purchasing.
What's up with Field Runners 2?
