Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. It feels like a bit of a dry spell this week, at least in terms of really interesting updates. I mean, I found some anyway, but usually I have a bigger selection to draw from. Well, we do what we can as we must. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it!
Injustice 2, Free There’s apparently a new character in Injustice 2, but I can’t seem to spot him anywhere. I’m doing the whole “John Cena can’t be seen" thing. It was all the rage ten years ago. Anyway, John Cena. Peacemaker is joining Injustice 2, fresh out of his popular show on Max. He fits into the Flawed Justice team quite nicely. This update also introduces Ascended Heroes, allowing you to take characters to seven stars for boosted stats. It’s going to cost you though, so get to the grinding. Always cool to see new characters join this game, even if it doesn’t happen at quite the rate I’d ideally like.
Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go, Samba de Amigo: Party-to-Go got a really significant update this week, adding more music, customization options, and a new mode. There are three new songs: Cupid (Twin Version) – Sped Up by FIFTY FIFTY, Do It Well by Jennifer Lopez, and Happy Birthday -Cake and Candles Mix-. The new mode is the Online Match, which is pretty much what it sounds like. Head online and play against others around the world, with plenty of cool rewards to unlock. Finally, those customization items. They’re mainly Puyo Puyo themed, and that is very cool. There are eleven new customization items in all. Pretty, pretty good. Almost good enough for the coveted award, but not quite.
Disney Dreamlight Valley, Boo! Did I… did I scare you? See, this is why I can’t get a job at Monsters, Inc.. But you can enjoy the Laugh Floor in this latest update, which sees Sulley on a mission to rescue Mike from the human world before it’s too late. Maybe shatter the Laugh Record on the way, but it depends on how things go. This update also brings some new monster-themed avatar customization items to the game, in case you want to dress the part. A new Realm is about the best thing you can ask for from an update to a game like this, so I’m calling that a win.
WHAT THE CAR?, I’m not exactly sure how this happened, but we have more than one sasquatch to deal with in today’s article. The first is a somewhat well-known one among Apple Arcade owners. It’s the sneakiest of all of them, the Sneaky Sasquatch! He appears in a whole new area where you can do all kinds of goofy things. There are a number of other additions and adjustments here, but I’ll leave it at the guest star per the stipulations of his contract. Also this is the winner of the slightly-less-coveted-but-still-desirable UMMSSotW award for the week! Good job!
Solitaire Stories, Here we are with a typical Solitaire Stories update, which means new stories and events to play through. The story is where we find our second sasquatch of this article, as it is titled Super Obvious Sasquatch. The black sheep of Sneaky Sasquatch’s family, no doubt. Over in events, there’s a St. Patrick’s Day thing going on, plus a limited-time event called Chrysalis. More reasons to play solitaire, in other words. I’m not sure people need reasons, but it’s nice to live in excess in at least one regard.
Merge Mansion, Free I’m not sure whether or not it will show in the article because of how our back end works these days, but the latest app icon for Merge Mansion just puts Grandma and Maddie in front of a plain background. No name or anything. You know you’ve made it when you can get away with that kind of thing. Anyway, this is our obligatory free-to-play matching puzzle game update for this week. The Spring Season has officially arrived, with a new area in the form of the Landing Room, a new Mystery Pass to blow some money on, an Easter themed seasonal event, and more. The notes for this update tell you to bring a shovel, and that’s not something I want to hear with this suspicious Grandma lurking around. Defend yourself as required.
Honkai Impact 3rd, Free Apparently this game is now Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2. What makes it worthy of a sequel bump? Let’s have a look and see. A new S-rank Battlesuit in the form of Deepspace Anchor: First Light. Two new A-rank Battlesuits, Valkyrie Boltstorm and Valkyrie Blastmetal. Some new AstralOps, Songque and Dreamseeker. Naturally, more story content and events. Also, new equipment! Is that all worth a number two in the title? I don’t know, but it happened so we just have to accept it.
Shoot The Moon, Free That rascally moon is at it again! Or rather, still at it. He never really stopped, I just stopped looking for a while. Well, I’m looking now, buddy. I’m looking now. This new version adds Turbo Mode, which speeds up the entire game in every respect. There are two Turbo settings, so you can choose just how ridiculously fast you want everything to be. I’m giving this one the coveted UMMSotW prize for this week, because there is nothing more UMMSotW than attacking and dethroning a moon. Nothing.
Whiteout Survival, Free I don’t think we’ve had Whiteout Survival in the articles before, so welcome I suppose. This game pops up in the annoying ads you ignore all the time, but I remember its name so I guess mission accomplished there. At any rate, this new update adds some Ramadan events, a new Skin Shop (not as creepy as it sounds), a new feature that allows you to delete characters, and a Prestige Shop. There are also tons of bug fixes, adjustments, and other tweaks. That’s the lot.
Real Racing 3, Free Yes, it’s a Real Racing 3 update. This is another one that tends to follow a similar pattern with its updates, generally offering up new cars and some new events. And yes, that’s exactly what we get here. In terms of new cars, you get the BMW Z4 M40i, the McLaren 765 LT, the 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RS, and more. Oh, and the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut. Can’t forget that one! You can earn these cars, or at least try to, in some of the latest events added to the game. Fire it up and try your luck if you’re interested.
That about wraps it up for last week’s significant updates. I’m sure I’ve missed some, though, so please feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think something should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely get their own news stories throughout this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to summarize and fill in the blanks. Have a great week!
