SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Bullion’, ‘Tenement’, ‘Monster Legacy’, Plus Today’s Other New Releases and Sales

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for February 12th, 2024. Wow, we’re almost halfway through the month already. This is going to be a pretty big week for new releases, but you wouldn’t really know it by looking at today. Indeed, this is a very quiet day in general. I don’t even have any reviews ready for you. So what we’re doing is going through the handful of new releases, then heading over to the new and expiring sales lists, then heading home for a little piece of cake. You have to provide your own cake. Anyway, let’s get to work.

New Releases

Bullion – The Curse of the Cut-Throat Cattle ($24.99)

This is a multiplayer focused party brawler for up to four players locally. It features a lot of cow puns, so be ready for that. I mean, look at that title. Just the start, friends. Anyway, battle each other, grab lots of loot, and try to be the last pirate standing. Be careful, though: if all of the players fall at the same time, that’s the end of the line. Could be a thing to freshen up your gaming parties.

Tenement ($9.99)

A 2D arena shooter where you battle bots in hundreds of pre-built matches against up to forty CPU opponents. There are eight different levels to play on. My frank opinion here is that this game looks like a mess, but sometimes there’s fun to be had in such things. I haven’t had a chance to play it yet, so I really can’t say whether this is decent or not.

Dreamland Solitaire ($5.99)

This is a fairly basic solitaire game in the fashion of many mobile card games, but I suppose if you want some decent art to serve as the backdrop for your fun then this will give you that much. I’m not going to relegate it to the bin, but there are a lot of games like this already on the Switch and chances are good you own one or two of them. Do you need one more? That’s a question I’ll leave to you to answer.

Monster Legacy: New Horizons ($4.90)

You don’t see a lot of visual novel style games aimed at kids, but that’s more or less what this is. You don’t get to make any choices that influence the story, but you do get to choose the order in which things happen. The art is nice, too. I’m not sure a kid is going to sit still and do this much reading, and I don’t know how much an adult will get out of this, but hey, a space was there and someone has tried to fill it.

The Bin Bunch

Throne of Egypt ($4.99)

Project Roll ($0.99)

Sales

(North American eShop, US Prices)

A tiny list to get us going this week, but it’s something. Katana Kata is a neat game, and you can’t go wrong with Crashlands or Levelhead. Over in the outbox, the latest Square Enix sale is wrapping up. Check and see if there’s anything in there you want, as it might be a few months before we see another one like this.

This was a weird weekend, and I don’t feel rested at all. I did play through Blaster Master on the NES in its entirety yesterday though, so that’s something. I hope you all have a marvelous Monday, and as always, thanks for reading!
