Following its reveal in June last year, Apple has announced the Apple Vision Pro release date and other launch details with pre-orders going live on January 19th for the US. We covered the announcement, but weren’t sure what to expect on the gaming side back in June. Today’s announcement from Apple has confirmed new spatial games are planned for the Apple Vision Pro including Game Room, What the Golf?, and . Apple says the Apple Vision Pro spatial games will take advantage of the hardware capabilities to “transform the space around players" and offer unique and engaging gameplay experiences. It is unclear if these games will be universal apps on the App Store, updates to existing ones, or standalone purchases right now. I’m curious to see how What the Golf? and Super Fruit Ninja differentiate from the existing VR versions of similar releases. The Apple Vision Pro ships February 2nd in the US. I’m not sure if we are going to cover these games extensively, but I’m interested to see what other developers do things for it. Fantasian seems like an amazing candidate for it with the dioramas.
