Following the launch of the excellent Backbone One PlayStation Edition, both Backbone and PlayStation have announced and released a new controller for Android. The Backbone One PlayStation Edition for Android is out now for $99.99. If you’ve not kept up with this new version of the controller, it is an officially licensed controller by PlayStation for Android featuring design tweaks to match the PS5 aesthetic. This includes PlayStation symbol face buttons on the Backbone One controller. I reviewed the Backbone One PlayStation Edition for iPhone. Read my review here. Watch the trailer for the Backbone One PlayStation Edition controller below:
More availability details are on the official PlayStation blog post for the Backbone One PlayStation Edition Android controller. As with the iPhone model, I’m disappointed that a PlayStation branded controller doesn’t have symmetric stick placement. Check it out here on the official store if you’d like to buy it from Backbone ahead of it going up at more retailers worldwide. While I’ve not used this one for Android, you can read my comparison covering all the controllers for iPhone and iPad here. I’m curious to see what Backbone does next with its controllers. If you already have a Backbone controller, will you be getting this version or is it going to be your first mobile controller?
