Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for April 27th, 2022. It’s a light one today. One of the lightest we’ve had in a while, in fact. But don’t worry, tomorrow will be making up for it as usual. There are a few new releases to look at today, and they all have some merit to them. We’ve got summaries of all of them, plus the usual lists of new and expiring sales. Let’s crack our knuckles and get into it!

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe ($24.99)

This is one of those oddball games where the more I try to explain it, the more confusing it’s going to sound. It’s a narrative thingy. Very meta. If you want to play something that isn’t quite like anything else, this is your ticket.
Abyss Memory Fallen Angel and the Path of Magic ($19.99)
Back in the early days of the Nintendo DS when its success was less than certain, I fell in love with a game called Kirby Canvas Curse. Starred some minor character that you probably don’t know. Anyway, you had to draw lines to guide Kirby around and deal with various obstacles and items. And at least as far as I can see, Abyss Memory offers a somewhat similar basic concept. I haven’t had a chance to play this one yet, but I’ll be giving it a closer look for sure.
The Sorrowvirus – A Faceless Short Story ($14.99)
Wyatt’s parents have made an unwise decision. Desperate for a cure for their terminally ill son, they have given him the Sorrowvirus. It keeps his soul from passing into the afterlife, which translates to him taking a round-trip back from Purgatory. Unfortunately, every time he comes back so does his illness. He dies, he returns, he dies, he returns, and the endless cycle soon becomes sheer torment. His parents seek to use his situation to find a cure once and for all, but all Wyatt wants is to die in peace. Your actions will determine which of the four endings you’ll arrive it. It’s a first-person adventure game with some puzzles to solve, but the premise is easily the best thing about it. Some will enjoy it in spite of its flaws, I’m sure.
