The Llama-Rama ‘Fortnite’ Crossover Event Invades ‘Rocket League Sideswipe’ on Mobile

TouchArcade Rating:

Rocket League is developed by Psyonix, which was bought by Epic Games a few years ago. Epic Games, as you probably know, makes a little game called Fortnite. So it’s no surprise that there’s been some synergy between these two mega-popular online multiplayer games, and in the past Rocket League on PC and consoles has played host to the Llama-Rama event which saw elements of Fortnite invade the vehicular soccer game with players able to earn rewards in BOTH games at the same time. Now with mobile getting its very own flavor of Rocket League with the release of Rocket League Sideswipe just a couple of weeks ago, the Llama-Rama is ready to invade our mobile devices as the event has kicked off in Sideswipe starting today and running through December 27th at 1pm ET.

If you hit up the Fortnite Blog here, you can get a breakdown of all the different goodies you can earn in both Fortnite and Rocket League Sideswipe. Top Llama car topper here I come. If you haven’t played this mobile version yet and are wondering if it’s any good: Um, heck yes it is. It captures the essence and frantic moments of Rocket League proper, but condenses it down to be more well-suited for mobile play. Matches are shorter and there are fewer players, but it never feels like you lose any of the excitement because of that. We chose it as our Game of the Week and for free there’s no reason you shouldn’t be checking it out for yourself if you haven’t already. And if you do, be sure to check out the Llama-Rama event running for the next two weeks.
