WIMO Games, a new studio comprised of industry veterans, have announced a pre-registration campaign and global release window for their tabletop-inspired mobile game RPG Dice: Heroes of Whitestone. After 500 years of relative peace, chaos befalls the quiet village of Whitestone when orcs, goblins, and other nasty creatures are led in to attack by a mysterious leader from the Twilight Empire. There’s only one thing to do when this sort of thing occurs: Rally up some bad ass buddies and go fight back against this evil threat, preferably with some sort of cool electric guitar montage showing you all coming together. RPG Dice plays out similarly to a tabletop game as you make your way through its board game-like map and battle it out against any baddie you come across in turn-based fashion, and (just about) everything is determined via dice rolls. See it all in action in the following trailer.
Of course because this is a video game and not a physical tabletop game there are some nice features added that probably wouldn’t be possible with a physical game. For one you don’t have to carry a bunch of dice around with you, so that’s a bonus. Also the game’s map can morph and change if you find secrets or discover hidden paths. There will be more than 60 heroes to unlock and upgrade as you mix and match to find the perfect team for any given situation. A full suite of online features like PvP, leaderboards, Guilds, and more is also part of the package. RPG Dice: Heroes of Whitestone is available in soft launch on Android in select regions, but starting today players can pre-register for the game to earn some rewards heading into the global launch which is planned for early next year. iOS players can pre-register here, and Android players here, and you can check out what types of rewards can be unlocked over on the game’s official website.
