‘Kitty Q’ is a Totally Free Game About Schrödinger’s Cat from ‘Sometimes You Die’ Developer Kamibox, Coming October 13th

We are major fans of developer Philipp Stollenmayer, otherwise known as Kamibox, for putting out such incredible mobile games as Sometimes You Die, The Apple Design Award winning Song of Bloom, Supertype… just far too many to name, actually. And of course we can’t forget Pancake – The Game. Well, Mr. Stollenmayer is back with a new title and, as we’ve come to expect from him by now, it’s something quite different from the norm. The game is called Kitty Q and it sees you answering a knock at your front door only to find a strange box on the doorstep. Inside is… a half-dead kitty. Yikes. Thankfully this precious furball is only HALF dead, which means she is also half alive. But how can you be both dead and alive at the same time? Thankfully you’ll have a friend named Anna to help guide you through this odd situation, and she just so happens to be the great grandchild of renowned physicist Erwin Schrödinger. Yes, this is a puzzle adventure based on the famous Schrödinger’s cat!

Kitty Q plays out similarly to an escape game, and as you solve the various mysteries of the game you’ll simultaneously be learning some of the finer points of quantum physics. Yes there is real-deal education happening in this game, but Kamibox promises that it’s never boring. Kitty Q was developed in conjunction with ct.qmat, a “leading international center for research on topological and complex quantum matter" and due to the educational nature of the game and funding provided by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research it will be available to everyone entirely for free, with no ads or IAP. A totally free Kamibox game? Yes please! You can check out Kitty Q for yourself when it arrives on iOS and Android October 13th and if you want to make sure you don’t miss out you can pre-order the iOS version in the App Store right now.
