Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 25th, 2021. Well, the whammy from the second vaccine shot has hit me full-force today. I’m in luck, though: it’s a quiet day. Likely the calm before the Gamescom storm, but I’ll take it. As such, we’ve got a light meal consisting of a little bit of news, a pair of new releases, and the usual sales lists to look at. I’ll run through it all with you, and then head to bed like a good little camper. Let’s go!

Get ‘No More Heroes 3’ Spirits in the Latest ‘Super Smash Bros.’ Event
Ah, back to the usual Wednesday announcement. How lovely. So, there’s a really cool-looking game coming out this week you may have heard of. It’s called No More Heroes 3, and it appears to be absolutely bananas-awesome. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s weekend event will be celebrating its release by introducing new Spirits based on the game in its newest weekend event. You’ve got three days to get your hands on the lot when the event kicks off this Friday alongside the release of the game.
New Releases
Murder Mystery Machine ($19.99)
Another Apple Arcade game makes its way over to Switch at a twenty-dollar price point. It seems to have been reasonably well-received by App Store users, so it’s probably a solid improvement over this developer’s previous game. Play as a rookie investigator as she tries to solve the case of a murdered politician. It’s an episodic story, so expect to investigate a bunch of smaller cases that feed into the overall mystery. Gather evidence, question suspects, and perform forensic tests to get to the bottom of each crime. If you have Apple Arcade, it might be a good idea to try it out over there before dropping a twenty on it here.
Space Wars ($2.99)
Yeah, I kind of figured we were due for another template flip from one of the Four Horsemen. Pix Arts steps up to the proverbial plate with a terrible looking shoot-em-up. It’s stage-based, but also endless. Defeat all the enemies on each stage to move on to the next. You’ll also collect coins you can use to unlock and upgrade ships, and find the occasional power-up as you move around each stage. With so many great shoot-em-ups of all kinds and at all prices on the Switch, there’s no reason to buy trash like this.

Annapurna is having a sale, which is awfully nice of them. Grab great games like Kentucky Route Zero, Telling Lies, and Sayonara Wild Hearts at some great prices while you can. There are a few other goodies in there, so do have a careful look. It’s not a huge list. What is huge is the list of expiring sales. Titles from Ubisoft, Onion Games, and many others are concluding their latest discounts. I recommend: all of the stuff from Onion Games. You can do what you like though, as I am not Emperor Dick Tracy.
