Shiro Games launched their critically acclaimed Viking strategy game Northgard on desktop back in 2018, and just this past April they teamed up with Playdigious to bring the title to the iOS platform. Northgard’s brand of gameplay was a great fit for the touchscreen, but Android fans wondered when they would be able to get in on the action. In June Playdigious announced that an Android version was in the works and that it would launch on August 24th, opening up pre-registrations on the Google Play Store at the same time.

With that date fast approaching Playdigious has today announced that the online multiplayer functionality, which wasn’t originally included in the iOS release, will be coming to the mobile versions of Northgard by the end of September. Not only that but players on both iOS and Android will be able to play against each other online cross-platform.

That’s not all though, as to celebrate this news and the impending Android launch, Playdigious will be offering one of the game’s DLC packs for free for a limited time. Between August 24th and August 31st players on both iOS and Android will be able to download the Horse DLC for free from their respective in-game stores. Those looking to pick up the Android version can still get a 30% discount by pre-registering on the Google Play Store ahead of its release in a couple of weeks. And all mobile Northgard players can look forward to the cross-platform online multiplayer sometime in late September.
