While Genshin Impact has no doubt become the more popular game, Honkai Impact 3rd (Free) from miHoYo has been getting updated regularly on all platforms with new collaborations, content, and more. The anime-styled action RPG just got a major update today bringing in the Neon Genesis Evangelion collaboration that was recently announced. Honkai Impact 3rd version 4.5.0 includes new story content, a battlesuit, equipment, event, and more. The update is a 3GB download on the App Store. The Neon Genesis Evangelion collaboration also includes an aesthetic inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion for the event. The collaboration features an exclusive battlesuit titled Blazing Hope. While the update is live the event is set to begin officially on January 22nd worldwide. Watch the trailer for it below:

I wonder if this Neon Genesis Evangelion collaboration was initially planned to coincide with the Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time movie that was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic ahead of its January 23rd release date in Japan. The Honkai Impact 3rd collaboration update is now with the ability to unlock SP Valkyrie Asuka for free by taking part in the collaboration and also additional login rewards.
