Earlier this month, miHoYo announced the next major update forGenshin Impact (Free) following version 1.1. Genshin Impact version 1.2 includes the game’s first map expansion in addition to new characters, improvements, quests, and more. Genshin Impact version 1.2 has just gone live on PS4, PS5 (through backward compatibility), iOS, Android, and PC. On iOS the download is under 2 GB from the App Store but you need to download just under 1 GB from within the game. With this update the game is 9.83 GB on my iPad. Genshin Impact 1.2 is titled “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon" and it includes the Dragonspine map, the new characters Albedo and Ganyu, the Domain of Blessing – Peak of Vindagnyr, the Blizzard Strayer and Heart of Depth artifact sets, and more. The Dragonspine is a new frozen mountain range with unique creatures, 4 star weapon recipes, rare artifacts, and more. Watch the Genshin Impact 1.2 update trailer below:
Albedo and Ganyu are new 5 star characters who are featured in this event. The new seasonal event with this update takes place in Dragonspine as well as players join Albedo to investigate a powerful sword called the Festering Desire. This event lets players fully refine the sword and also redeem rewards like the Crown of Insight from the event shop.
