A little while ago, I wrote about SEGA’s Fist of the North Star Legends ReVIVE for iOS and Android that saw a worldwide release. This is a free to play mobile game based on the Fist of the North Star brand and it has been getting content updates quite regularly since it launched on mobile. This followed SEGA’s Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise which was the first console game based on that brand since Koei Tecmo’s Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage that released on home consoles outside Japan. Shin Hokuto Musou is the Japanese title for Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2. Over the weekend, Koei Tecmo announced (via Gematsu) Shin Hokuto Musou Mobile for iOS and Android in Japan. This free to play action RPG is being developed by Midas and published by Koei Tecmo for mobile in Japan. Check out a screenshot from the game below:
More details for Shin Hokuto Musou Mobile will likely be revealed at TGS 2020. Hopefully Koei Tecmo can showcase some gameplay and confirm whether Shin Hokuto Musou Mobile is related to the console game Shin Hokuto Musou (Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2). As of now it isn’t known whether this is a free to play take on that or a brand new game. Shin Hokuto Musou Mobile is only confirmed for Japan as of now and pre-registrations are live on the game’s official website and it is set for release this year. Check it out here. Koei Tecmo doesn’t have the best track record for mobile releases outside Japan. It is going to be interesting to see how Shin Hokuto Musou Mobile does with Fist of the North Star Legends ReVIVE already available on mobile. Have you played the original console games from Koei Tecmo or any of SEGA’s releases based on Fist of the North Star yet?
