‘Truberbrook’ from Headup Games Finally Has a Confirmed Release Date for Mobile with Pre-Orders Now Live on the App Store

TouchArcade Rating:

Earlier this year, Headup Games announced a mobile version of Truberbrook ($1.99) with a release planned for Summer 2020. Truberbrook is an atmospheric mystery adventure game with a great aesthetic that sees players take on the role of Hans Tannhauser. Hans is an American physicist who ends up in the village of Truberbrook for a surreal experience. Ever since Truberbrook was announced for iOS earlier this year, I’ve been waiting to check it out. It is another one of those indie games I had my eye on for Nintendo Switch. Truberbrook releases on both iOS and Android in a few weeks now as a premium release. Watch the mobile announcement trailer for Truberbrook below:

Truberbrook will arrive on September 3rd for both iOS and Android. Check out the Steam page for Truberbrook here. If you’re interested in checking it out on mobile, you can pre-order it on the App Store for iOS here and pre-register for it on Google Play for Android here. It is a premium release priced at $4.99. For iPhone X screen sizes and iPads, the game will use artwork to fill up the screen around the gameplay. Have you played Truberbrook on Nintendo Switch or any other platform before?

I played it on the Mac the day it came out on GOG. Unfortunately, stability issues kept killing my immersion. In particular, a memory leak of ~1GB per scene exited was causing my SSD to fill up quickly.

I reached out to the developers, who were extremely helpful but couldn’t reproduce despite trying hard. I eventually decided to live with the bug until I completed the game.

A few days later, the developers sent me a Truberbrook sticker sheet as a thank-you for going through all the support trouble. Nice gesture!

In this game, as one of the puzzles, to get a cat off a tree, you have to use a blowgun to shoot it with a skewer and then electrocute it. And that is considered funny.
