We are big fans of developer James Senter around these parts. For the past several years James has been developing largely text-based games for mobile that “rely on the player’s imagination rather than fancy graphics" and are always fully VoiceOver accessible for blind and low-vision players, a criminally underserved segment of the mobile gaming market. You may already know James from 2016’s Nano Empire ($2.99), 2018’s Friends of the Prince (Free), or last year’s A Few Minutes of Glory ($2.99). Now he has a new game in the works that is scheduled to launch in just a few weeks, but in the meantime is looking for some last minute beta testers. It’s called Evelyn’s Farm and it’s an incremental text-based adventure “along the lines of Nano Empire, A Dark Room, Universal Paperclips, or SPACEPLAN." In the game you’ll team up with your friends Ivan and Lucy to help out old lady Evelyn with her harvest in order to earn a little money for college. The game is partly inspired by Stranger Things and so, well, you can imagine that some odd stuff will go down during the harvest season.
If you want to get in on the beta testing action, just head over to the thread in our forums to let James know you’re interested. If you’re not big on testing but like the look of the game, Evelyn’s Farm is shooting for release on January 27th and is available for pre-order on the App Store right now at a 50% discount, which makes it just a measly dollar. And of course Evelyn’s Farm is devoid of any IAP or ads, and it will never have any. If this is the first you’re hearing of James Senter’s work, I can highly recommend any of his previous games too, and will definitely be looking forward to Evelyn’s Farm when it arrives later this month.
