Hello gentle readers, and welcome to an unusually news-heavy edition of the SwitchArcade Round-Up. In today’s article, we have tons of news. News about updates past, updates present, and updates yet-to-be. News about DLC. News about events. Frankly, I feel like I got saved here because there really wasn’t much else to write about today. Let’s swim on in and check things out!

Dig Into the Free ‘Winter Wonderland’ Update for ‘Overcooked 2’
The Overcooked games remain a popular choice at family gatherings, and the developers seem well aware of that. When new content arrives, it usually comes just ahead of holidays, and that’s the case with the latest update for Overcooked 2. The new Winter Wonderland DLC adds five new festive levels that give you a taste of some of the paid DLC. You also get two new chefs that are decked out in season-appropriate attire, and some new holiday-themed enemies in the Horde Mode. Rounding things out are five new recipes that are sure to warm your heart and body: hot chocolate, pancakes, roast dinner, Christmas pudding, and mince pies.
‘A Robot Named Fight’ Gets New Areas and Enemies in Latest Update
I am a big fan of the Metroid-inspired roguelite action game A Robot Named Fight. It does a great job of mashing up two concepts that shouldn’t really work all that well with each other, and it’s something I always enjoy firing up now and then. The game still gets some neat updates now and then, and the latest has just arrived. It adds a new area called the Crystal Mines, which brings two new bosses, eight new enemies, eighty new rooms, and some new music along with it. There are also some new items including one called the Kaboomerang. How can you argue with that? Some balance changes and bug fixes are also included here. You can grab A Robot Named Fight for the ridiculous price of $0.99 right now, and that is definitely a thing you should do.
Details Divulged for Upcoming ‘Luigi’s Mansion 3’ Multiplayer Pack
If you dig playing Luigi’s Mansion 3 in multiplayer mode, Nintendo is planning on adding more content for you and your friends to enjoy together. The Luigi’s Mansion 3 Multiplayer Pack consists of two content drops. One will be added before April 30, and the other is scheduled to arrive before July 31st. In the first pack, you can look forward to three new mini-games for the ScreamPark mode, along with three new outfits for Luigi with matching floors and ghosts in the ScareScraper mode. The second content drop’s details are less specific right now, but thus far it seems to offer a similar selection of mini-games and outfits. Buying the DLC will also give you a new Polterpup light called Flashlight Type-P that you can use in Story Mode or the ScareScraper mode. The price for the pack is $9.99.
‘Baba is You’ is Update; Update is Win
The wonderful puzzle game Baba is You just launched in a number of countries, which at the very minimum necessitated an update to add more languages to the game. While the developer was in there, however, it also made a lot of other fixes, changes, and additions. Multiple levels have been tweaked, a new secret has been added, a map completion indicator has been added to a certain map that didn’t have one before, and… well, there’s a lot here. One interesting thing in the patch notes is that the game is going to receive a level editor in 2020, something this update makes a few behind-the-scenes alterations in preparation for.
‘Children of Morta’ 2020 Development Roadmap Revealed
Children of Morta, the story-heavy roguelite action RPG from Dead Mage and 11 Bit Studios, has a lot of updates planned for it in the future. Included in the upcoming free content updates are a new harder difficulty setting, new items, a new game+ mode, an extra playable character, online co-op, and an endless mode. Once all of that is finished, a paid expansion called Uncharted Lands will add a whole new chapter to the game. It has its own main quest, a home event, yet another extra playable hero, new enemies, and a brand new boss to square off against. Sounds good!
Go Big or Go Home in the Next ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ Event
The next event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been announced, and it’s a big one. Well, not really. I’m just doing some word play. But the theme this time around concerns mega-sized battles. This tournament will see you squaring off against mega-sized characters, and as usual a better performance will get you more spirits. The event starts, as usual, on Friday and will run through the weekend.
Sales
Lots of sales today, but are any of them good? Hmm. I mean, there are good games here. Steredenn: Binary Stars is solid, Elena Temple has its moments, and the Knights of Pen & Paper games are enjoyable enough. But most of these games go on sale pretty often, and with potential Christmas or New Year’s sales on the horizon, you may want to save your money. Or you may want to pick something up from the outbox, as the sale celebrating The Game Awards is wrapping up soon. Hard choices. I leave them to you.

That’s all for today, friends. Tomorrow will have a decent bunch of new releases to check out, but it looks like Friday is going to be fairly quiet. Lots of releases stacked up for Monday and Tuesday of next week, which seems like poor timing to me. But what do I know? In addition to the new releases summaries, we’ll have whatever interesting news and sales come our way in tomorrow’s article as well. Have a great Wednesday, and as always, thanks for reading!
