We are massive fans of Pixelbite Games around here, and it’s not hard to see why. Their Reckless Racing series are some of the best top-down racers around, their Reckless Getaway games are frantic high-speed chase simulators, Repulze is probably as close as you can get to an F-Zero/Wipeout love child, and the Space Marshals games are astoundingly great strategic top-down shooters and are two of my very favorite mobile games of all time. And then there’s Xenowerk flying in a bit under the radar from other Pixelbite games. It doesn’t try to be anything more than an action-packed sci-fi top-down shooter, and at that it succeeds beautifully. It’s one of the only Pixelbite properties that hasn’t seen any sort of sequel or follow-up games, but that is set to change as this week Pixelbite announced on their blog that they’re working on a new title called Xenowerk Tactics. Some screens!
There’s not a ton of information about Xenowerk Tactics just yet, but the title alone should give you a hint at where they’re going with this one. As they describe their game in the blog post, “A pre-apocalyptic RTS-like, mutant blasting game with exploration and strategy elements. In this game you’ll manage and evolve your base camp and a crew of various operatives (Marines, Rangers and Scientists). You send squads into the infected zone and do various missions, either to profit yourself or maybe to try to save the world. Or a little of both." Other than that little description we also know that Xenowerk Tactics will be coming out this year, will be for both iOS and Android, and will be a premium game. We couldn’t be more excited and we’ll be keeping close tabs on this one.
