TouchArcade Favorite ‘Plunderland’ is Available Now in GameClub Early Access

I have to say that the list of games put out by GameClub so far are almost all ones that are very near and dear to my own (and our community’s) heart. That probably has a little something to do with ten year TouchArcade veteran Eli Hodapp being involved with GameClub. They have an Early Access program where anybody with an iOS device can test out the games that GameClub are planning on republishing to the App Store, and they’ve been diligent about releasing a new game to the program each and every Monday since the service kicked off back in March. This week’s Early Access game is available now and just as I said it is very near and dear to my heart. It’s the pirate mayhem game Plunderland from developer Glitchers, who used to be known as Johnny Two Shoes. We loved Plunderland in our review from back when it originally released close to a decade ago, and this very old trailer is a very good overview of the game that shows the two brothers who made it playing through and explaining just what it’s all about.

If you’re somehow unaware of what this whole “GameClub" thing is, as mentioned it’s what Eli left TouchArcade to go do back in March, and their aim is to resurrect some of the mobile greats that have been lost over the years due to incompatibility with modern versions of Apple’s hardware and software. Some of their previous releases include absolute classics like Hook Champ, Sword of Fargoal, Incoboto, and more. If you want to get your hands on these games yourself then head to the official GameClub website to find Testflight links to most of the released games so far (it seems the website is a bit behind the release pace), or if you’re a Discord afficionado you should check out the GameClub Discord where links to all of the games are available and they’ve actually begun handing out Testflight links to upcoming games earlier to their chat members. We LOVE what GameClub is doing and we LOVE Plunderland, so be sure to check it and all the previous games out right now, and we’ll look forward to seeing even more classics resurrected in the coming weeks.
