You may be familiar with Joseph Gribbin due to his involvement in several excellent Nitrome games over the years, such as Rust Bucket, Hop Swap and Turn Undead 2, as well as his wholly designed puzzle platformer Spike City which we picked as our Game of the Week when it released and included it in our Best Games of 2018 list. Now Mr. Gribbin is back with another new game called Magnibox. As the name implies, you’ll need to guide your magnet/box hybrid through 160 challenging levels using the power of magnetism, using positive anchor points to pull yourself towards and negative ones to propel yourself away, ultimately getting yourself safely to the level’s end goal. You’ll also have to contend with all manner of hazards and contraptions like conveyor belts, lasers, breakable blocks, and tons more. Check it all out in the trailer for Magnibox below.
As you may or may not be aware, Magnibox has actually already launched on Steam just over a month ago, and has garnered a positive reception on desktop so far. However, as he has mentioned on Twitter, a lot of people have been waiting for a mobile version of the game, so now those wishes are being granted. When are they being granted I hear you ask? Why, next week, on May 8th. Just around the ol’ corner. With how much I’ve enjoyed all of Gribbin’s previous work, I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on the mobile version of Magnibox when it hits iOS and Android next week.
