Multi-ball brick breakers aren’t a new concept, but it wasn’t really until Ketchapp’s Ballz hit the top of the App Store charts in the spring of last year that the genre really exploded on the App Store. It’s not hard to see why. Whereas a traditional brick breaker like Breakout tested your reflexes, the multi-ball approach added a neat layer of strategy to the mix, and also made way for super satisfying combo possibilities. Now Crossy Road developer Hipster Whale is partnering up with Mighty Games once again to bring a new multi-ball brick breaker into the fold called Piffle. As we’ve come to expect from these developers, Piffle is charming as all heck as you can see in the following trailer.

If the name Mighty Games sounds familiar to you, you might recall that this is not their first foray into the world of multi-ball brick breakers. Last year they released Charming Runes which was a brick breaker spinoff of their popular idle game Charming Keep, so they definitely have some experience in this area. Piffle looks to raise the adorable factor pretty significantly over the already pretty adorable Charming Runes with a host of cute kitties to collect and use in the game, which are officially known as Piffle Balls. Even the name is cute… Piffle! If you like the look of everything here you won’t have long to wait as Piffle is set to release for free next week on October 4th.
