After being teased on Twitter for weeks, PUBG Mobile (Free) gets the big 0.8.0 update on both iOS and Android adding a new map, new weapons, a new way to save bandwidth, and more. The update weighs in at about 2GB on iOS and it adds the new Sanhok map. This map needs to be downloaded from within the game. Sanhok has some exclusive weapons like the QBZ automatic rifle, flare gun, Duckbill, and more. The update also adds some improvements to the UI and UX for saving time while collecting rewards. There are also a few new vehicles like the Bulletproof UAZ and the Muscle Car for Sanhok.
Alongside the update, PUBG Mobile now has more than 20 million daily active users worldwide. This does not include Japan, China, and Korea region players so it is quite the achievement. If you care about Chicken Dinners, they announced that Season 2 had 864,425,575 Chicken Dinners earned with more than 130 million players across the world. It has been interesting seeing how much better PUBG is on mobile compared to the other platforms while Fortnite has been getting better across the board. PUBG on Xbox One even at 1.0 still doesn’t feel as polished or play as consistently well as the mobile version. In a lot of ways, PUBG Mobile is now the main version of PUBG.
