If there is one license that Zen Studios has been absolutely juicing, it’s the Star Wars IP. And I don’t mean that in a bad way at all. Zen has been putting out amazing Star Wars tables for their Zen Pinball (Free) (known as Pinball FX on other platforms) for many years now, and they’ve always done that legendary license proud. Earlier this year they jumped on the Star Wars: The Last Jedi hype train with two new tables inspired by last December’s film, and as we learned a few weeks ago, with this summer’s Solo: A Star Wars Story origin film in the rearview mirror Zen has just put out another collection of three tables inspired by that. First up is the Calrissian Chronicles which focuses on Lando and Han’s adventures together, then there’s the table simply titled Solo where you can make the infamous Kessel Run (hopefully in less than 12 parsecs), and finally there’s the Battle of Mimban table where you can be the bad guys and play as The Empire. Check out all three tables in the trailers below.
I’ve always been a fan of the pinball stuff that Zen Studios puts out, especially all their excellent licensed stuff, and this latest batch of tables is no exception. However, I do have one big bone to pick with these guys. As an iPhone X owner, where’s my full screen support at yo?? I have to say that as far as unsupported games go, Zen Pinball still looks and plays just fine in its letter-boxed fashion on the iPhone X, but I can’t help but think how gorgeous the whole game would look with true edge to edge screen support. Ahhhh maybe some day. For now though if you’re interested in these new Star Wars tables they’re available now for the usual price of $1.99 apiece as in-app purchases, and if they haven’t already they should be hitting Pinball FX on consoles and PC soon available as a bundled purchase.
