Back in the summer of 2012 Daedlic Entertainment released a port of the 2008 PC point-and-click adventure game Edna & Harvey: The Breakout ($2.99) for the iPad, and now all these years later they’re getting ready to unleash the sequel on iOS as well. Released on PC in 2012, the sequel is titled Harvey’s New Eyes and follows protagonist Lilli as she performs menial tasks at the convent where she resides, but things take a dark turn when Lilli’s “censor gnomes" come into the equation. Looking like little potato people, the censor gnomes come into play whenever something weird or disturbing happens at the convent and they paint away the awful images with pink paint. Obviously Lilli has some issues going on “upstairs" if you know what I mean. Check out this twisted trailer for Harvey’s New Eyes.
Like the original Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, Harvey’s New Eyes is not exactly an adventure game for kids, despite its colorful visuals and cute characters. These games deal with some messed up stuff, man! One thing worth noting is that Daedlic says Harvey’s New Eyes will be arriving for both iPhone and iPad, as opposed to the original game which is iPad only. Yes the iPhone screen is pretty tiny for adventure games, but it’s been totally fine in my experience and as someone who doesn’t use an iPad all that often I’ve played far more adventure games than I would have because they’ve been available on iPhone, so I’m happy to see the support here. Harvey’s New Eyes is set to arrive on the App Store August 15th at a price of $4.99, so look for it in just a few weeks.
