The fantastic Pocket Run Pool (Free) is getting a huge update tomorrow. Zach Gage just announced that it will hit version 2.0 with a whole lot of new content and bug fixes. If you missed it, we love Pocket-Run Pool and featured it as Game of the Week when it released. If you’ve ever wanted to play Pool but with a lovely modern aesthetic as you hunt down a new high score, this is the game for you. I’m a big fan of games that make good use of haptic feedback like this one does. Watch the original trailer for it below:
Your aim here has never been to just get balls into the pockets. Each pocket has a multiplier and your aim is to get a highscore while competing against others or even yourself. You play from a top down perspective with a very intuitive control scheme. Pocket-Run Pool isn’t about realistic visuals or simulation but more of an arcade experience with visuals that are worth praising every chance I can.

The 2.0 update that is releasing tomorrow adds two new betting tiers and five new conditions that include a Super Ball, Poison Balls, explosive Pockets, and more. I was already sold on the game when I saw the lovely screenshots and I’m glad that the update will be adding 10 new backgrounds and improve the menu a bit. There will also be 6 unlockable cuesticks. Here’s our forum thread with more discussion around the game.
Love this game so much! My wish would be for the ability to spin the cue ball and more easily set yourself up for the next shot.
