FrozenPepper games is preparing to release their newest mobile offering, and it’s a space flying game called Engines Override. The main hook of the game is its control scheme which has you adjusting the thrust of the left and right engines independently from one another using levers on either side of the screen. This is a common thing in “lander" games where you’re controlling a ship vertically against the forces of gravity, but it’s not often you see it in a top-down space flyer. It seems like FrozenPepper wanted to explore that mechanic by building all sorts of gameplay types around it, so in Engines Override you’ll be doing things like racing but also more skill-based tasks like using a bulldozer ship to clear space junk into a black hole, delivering loads of cargo, and more.
Engines Override will feature Game Center support and many leaderboards tracking your best times in the game, and the racing portions will feature races against 7 AI opponents or real-life players online. The game will be free to download with 6 missions of the campaign and one full 4 track racing cup available to play, with the rest of the game unlockable with a one-time IAP. Best of all is that it’s coming soon, with a scheduled release date of November 24th. So there’s no reason not to give Engines Override a try for free after stuffing your face with food and watching football all day (for my American readers, at least) if you fancy a new space flyer this Friday.
