The Monument Valley games have managed to break out of the gaming world and into mainstream conversations, partly because of Monument Valley‘s appearance in House of Cards but also because for many (including Apple), they stand for everything mobile gaming can be: beautiful, perfectly designed, evocative. Monument Valley 2 ($3.99) has been very successful on iOS (topping the charts must faster than the original), and now it’s time for it to find its way onto Android devices. Specifically, the game is coming to Android November 6th, as you can see at the end of the launch trailer below. The game should costs $4.99, just like the iOS version, and is definitely one you should grab if you like the genre.
We enjoyed Monument Valley 2 in our review, even though we did note that its lovely abstraction sometimes comes at the expense of a more cohesive story. Still, it’s not often you get to play a game about a mother and a daughter, and certainly not often you get to play a game as pretty as Monument Valley 2. Regardless of its imperfections, Monument Valley 2 is the kind of landmark mobile game that you should check out.
