Earlier this month our own Tasos spotted a cool looking disc golfing game from Thinking Impaired Studios, or TI Studios for short, called Disc Golf To Go. The basic idea of disc golf was alive and well in the game, with your overall goal being to get the disc into the basket at each hole in as few tosses as possible. The wrinkle was that there’s an additional goal of collecting stars which will often require you to go off the beaten path of each hole. There are 20 different discs in the game and each one flies a bit differently. As the developer puts it, “You’ll definitely need them all if you hope to get through some of the game’s tougher levels." Here’s the trailer for Disc Golf To Go so you can see it in action.
TI Studios has been developing Disc Golf To Go for pretty much all of 2017, and they (well, he actually as it’s just a single person) have been keeping a mini dev log going in the game’s forum thread. It’s been interesting to read the thinking behind the game’s design decisions and follow along with its progress, and when we originally posted about Disc Golf To Go TI Studios was hoping to have the game out sometime before the end of August. Well, the Apple approval process went more quickly than he expected so now the game is technically still launching in August but right at the very beginning, next week on August 1st. It’ll be $3.99 and is a completely single-player game that can be played offline. I’m really looking forward to checking it out so watch for Disc Golf To Go when it arrives next Tuesday.
