With the upcoming Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion on the horizon and the existing metagame getting a bit long in the tooth, Blizzard has been up to all sorts of exciting things to keep people playing Hearthstone (Free). Previously, we celebrated the Midsummer Fire Festival which had Ragnaros awarding us double coins for all of our quests. Now, Frost Lord Ahune has taken things over with the Frost Festival. This time around, participating in the event doesn’t award coins, but instead packs for the upcoming expansion. Of course you can’t actually open them until Knights of the Frozen Throne launches, but, it’s cool earning them regardless.
There’s a tavern brawl where you race your opponent to see how many dummy Ragnaroses you can kill before they do, and special event quests which will have you playing in the arena. I’m really loving the overall flavor of the event, as Frost Lord Ahune seems super desperate to one-up Ragnaros.
Hopefully how well these events have been designed provide a good teaser of how the single player adventure-like content is going to play out when Knights of the Frozen Throne launches next month. I’m super excited, if you can’t tell.

What's more, you can only catch them with (very limited ) 'raid balls', special pokéballs that only drop after winning a raid battle. So if you dont do raids often, or if you didn't stockpile any, you're looking at about max 8-10 balls you csn throw at the legendaries, too. Bummer move, niantic.
Unfortunately you cannot have more than the 5-13 balls you earn for a raid. If you catch the raid boss on the first ball the rest of them vanishes.
I took down a Lugia and Articuno but was unable to capture either. Pretty frustrating.
I quit recently, that game had me driving all over the place for raids, and not getting anything over 3 stars. I thought they were about walking??? For anyone who doesn't like IAP, you're doing it anyway by wasting gas money and putting wear and tear on your car.
Very frustrating experience. I have been attempting to capture both the elusive Lugia & Articuno since it started but unfortunately my effort is unsuccessful. Wasted so much time & money on car fuel, raid pass, etc. Today is the last day for Articuno and I hope Niantic would make them available at a later date. otherwise I'd totally give up on this game.
