Egglia: Legend of the Redcap is a mobile RPG created by a team with a tremendous pedigree in the gaming industry, comprised of members who have worked on the Mana series, Mother 3, and the Kingdom Hearts series. It released in Japan back in April and shot up the charts, and this week developers Powerchord Studio and Brownies Inc. have announced that Egglia: Legend of the Redcap is releasing in English in August. The land of Egglia has become trapped inside of eggs piece by piece, and one day a red capped elf named Chabo falls from the sky and embarks on a quest to restore the world to its former glory. It’s all explained quite well in the new English language trailer for Egglia: Legend of the Redcap.
Besides typical RPG stuff like roaming the land, talking to interesting characters, and completing various types of quests, there’s also a heavy emphasis on restoring the land of Egglia and helping it become a thriving community again. It almost feels like a heavy dose of Animal Crossing has been injected into Egglia, which is pretty exciting to me. Another surprising thing about this game is that I instantly assumed it would be a free to play game, especially with all the city-building and egg-hatching stuff going on, but in fact Egglia is a completely premium game with no IAP. While a specific release date for Egglia: Legend of the Redcap hasn’t been set yet, it should be arriving sometime in August, and about that pedigree of the development team I mentioned earlier? They’ve put together a neat little video talking about the making of the game which you can see below.
