‘Brawl Stars’ Gets More Balance Changes: Piper Nerfed, Gems Increased, and More

Supercell’s upcoming lightweight MOBA has been in soft launch in Canada for a while now, we’re huge fans of it, and the team at Supercell is actively tweaking the game as it (hopefully) nears a global launch. The latest round of changes includes a nerf to the newest brawler, Piper, whose super charge rate has been reduced by 25%. Anyone who has played a MOBA before knows this sort of thing is to be expected, as more often than not new characters are released slightly overpowered then are typically nerfed to be brought back into line with the rest of ’em.

Additionally, Supercell is making some in-game economy changes, further reinforcing the fact that you really shouldn’t spend money in or get too upset about IAP in soft launches as those sorts of things are in a state of constant flux. While one of the previous balance tweaks chipped away at coins players earn, this one provides around 50% more gems from premium gem packs.

With that, the cost of all skins have been decreased, as well as the amount of chips gained from getting duplicate brawlers. Similarly, the cost to permanently unlock brawlers have been decreased. Epic brawlers go down to 60 chips from 70, and legendary brawlers have been lowered to 500 chips from 600. Last, but not least, players at lower levels will lose fewer trophies when playing Showdown, and double XP events now happen every four days.

Still no word on when the game will finally be released worldwide, and once again it’s worth reiterating: Currently Brawl Stars is only available on iOS. All Brawl Stars Android APK download links are scams. Oh, and if you’re looking for people to play with, come hang out in our Brawl Stars Discord Server.
