‘The Mummy Dark Universe Stories’ Will be Developed by the Studio Behind ‘Oxenfree’ and ‘Mr. Robot’

TouchArcade Rating:

If you’ve already seen Tom Cruise’s The Mummy, then you’ll know that (spoilers) it doesn’t really have an ending since it’s setting up the Dark Universe movies to come. To no one’s surprise, Universal has decided to make a mobile game to go with the movie, but The Mummy Dark Universe Stories sounds like a much more interesting game than most movie-based games. The developer is Night School Studio, of Oxenfree and Mr. Robot fame, and will be an episodic, supernatural adventure where players take on the role of Nick Morton, Tom Cruise’s character from The Mummy, in a story with multiple narrative options and dynamic comic-style illustrations.

While normally I wouldn’t pay that much attention to a movie-based game, simply based on previous experience, this time around I’m looking forward to seeing what Night School Studio can offer, especially since I really enjoyed Mr. Robot. The game should be coming out this month.
